Notes from April Corporate Prayer meeting

By gabe • April 23rd, 2010

Earlier this week we gathered at LCC for our monthly corporate prayer meeting. It proved to be a power-filled 45 minutes of impactful prayer and intimate worship. We interceded heavily for our government but it was the section of prayer for the 2010 Soccer World Cup that things got really hot in! Below is just a sample of the items we prayed into in this regard, so that you may know how to continue in your prayers at home. It’s less than 50 days to go! Look out for the date of our next time of prayer like this.

FIFA World Cup 2010

•1Co 9:22 “To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.”

For:

*Gospel opportunities to reach people for Jesus

*Safety of travellers, players, officials and spectators

*People to feel the expression of God’s Love through His church

*That South Africa would experience unity through this event

Against:

*The demand for prostitution and drugs

*Criminals wanting to take advantage of foreign travellers

*Negativity and instability within the nation
