Rom.6:6… Slavery is not over! (this time we have just chosen our slave masters)

-All sin is rooted in idolatry
-Everyone is a worshipper all the time…either of God or of idols (Rom.1:25)
Idolatry:
1.Brings Identity
(masculinity is defined by what you produce, not by what you consume)
(1.Cor.11:7)
2.presents a false gospel
(how advertising works: “heaven to hell through a false savior”)
-idolatry causes grumbling and death
1.if you idolize something, you have to demonize something else
2.people and things fail as gods
-Jesus is not an idol-giver…he is GOD! (He’s an idol-breaker!)
“fear of man is a snare/trap” Proverbs.29
Revelation.21
(conviction leads to repentance which leads to freedom)
-define your life and live it backward
-see the king and the kingdom and define your life accordingly
-it’s not that our appetites are too strong, they are too weak!
