Ephesians 3:20 has been a foundational scripture for key endeavors in my life. I’ve read, prayed and sung this verse many times but I’ve never heard it being preached in context as Wally did on Sunday. I’ve heard some preachers say that this next decade is going to be an Eph 3:20 decade. Those words have resounded in my spirit and I found Sunday’s message hugely helpful towards living out an Eph 3:20 decade. I’m looking forward to digesting this message further in life group!

Firstly, I must apologise for falling behind in making the Ephesians series podcasts available. We are back on track with a brand new sound system and the recordings are now of a much higher quality. Enjoy!

In this message, Wally teaches on the “Resurrection power of God available to those who believe“. What I found most helpful were the four keys Wally spoke about on how WE can release this resurrection power that lives within us. As “Snap” sang many years ago – “I’ve got the power”. I would like to add to that: “I’ve got the power to shower!” Digest this message and go for it ….

Some questions to reflect on:

1. What Biblical / Scriptural prayers do you enjoy praying? Look at the 3 in Ephesians for personal reflection & prayer, and pray them over one another & the Church.

a. The Revival of Divine Revelation – Ephesians 1:16-19
b. The Outpouring of Divine Love – Ephesians 3:16-19
c. The Release of Prophetic Boldness – Ephesians 6: 19-20

2. How real is the RESURRECTION of Christ to you? Why is it so important to our Christian faith? Imagine the awesome power in the resurrection!

3. What things/issues do you need to write under your shoe as a reminder that you have power over it in Christ Jesus? What Scripture verses would you place alongside?

4. What areas do you believe the Lord wants you to begin to step up, step out and step into?

If you have mixed feelings about fasting (I know I do) then you need to listen to this message. What I found helpful was what the “real reason and motives for fasting should be”:

An Act of Faith in obedience to God’s Word & devotion towards the Lord. Rom 12:1-3
To humble one self before God. Psalm 35:13 & Psalm 69:10-11
In repentance for sin and or in seeking deliverance and guidance. Ezra.9:5, Neh.9:1
To draw closer to God, it reveals an earnestness to glorify God in your body and to bring the flesh under Gods control.
To increase ones spiritual power and authority. Mark.9:29. As Prayer needs Faith Prayer needs FASTING.
For our natural hunger to be turned to a spiritual hunger and desire for God.
To develop a greater sensitivity to God and the needs of others. The eternal becomes more important than the temporary.

Wally also makes us aware of some practical aspects which are often overlooked in a time of fasting. Let this message help you make the most out of your time of fasting. God will reward you when you fast according to His Word!
